• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Not meaning to be rude, but your avatar looks rather inbred. o_O

Only problem is that they used a lie to make these pretty tigers. It's probably against the tiger's rights or something.

IF it were done properly, it would be fine. However, I seriously doubt that people are going to be willing to monitor these things anyway, seeing how out of hand they've got. I'm not saying inbreeding itself is immoral, but repeated inbreed will almost certainly being up generic faults and...

But surskitty, the issues have surfaced and now we need to get rid of them. Inbreeding might be okay a few times, but when you know a genetic infection is going to be caused, it shouldn't be allowed. The thing is, people still do it even though they're affecting their dog's health! It's not a...

Well, on the programme I watched, it wasn't puppy farms they were talking about. Either way surskitty, your breed standards might be different, or you might have different ways of going about breeding dogs in America. I don't know. Oh, those poor tigers. I always felt slightly more attached to cats than dogs, but I never knew that white tigers were actually the result of inbreeding! D: That's just horrible. People doing this should be caught and shot now. :/

As far as I know, the Swedish Kennel Club don't allow inbreeding. Or something like that. Either way, this does need to be stopped. It's a serious problem that is affecting our modern society. If nothing is done, it could result in a lot of modern breeding being wiped out.

Bred to Death - British Kennel Club

Yeah, the Kennel Club annoys me. I felt sorry for that one woman, her name I forget, who was at the show going around informing the owners about that syringomyelia. I really hated it when some of the breeders went: "You have some nerve showing your face around here." like some snooty lord or...

Bred to Death - British Kennel Club

Whilst I was on holiday in Devon, the BBC broadcasted a programme which I found, possible along with many others, was a very touching topic. The show-dogs, after years of breeding for "perfection", pedigree dogs are now so prone to various genetic diseases and faults that they're having to be...
